On this National Adoption Day, adoptive mom Dani Gibson Vihiath shares her heart on adopting older children:
When you think of adoption, the first thought that comes to your mind is of a baby that you'll be able to care for and train up as you like, influence them so they'll have the same tastes in music as you do and think like you...but love transcends such thoughts!
One definition of love is acceptance, and accepting implies that you will receive this child whether they are like you or not, be it physically or in their personality traits. There are great challenges that come with adopting older children, but it's never too late to give and receive love! We are witnessing our son's achievements, and it fills our hearts with joy to know we will see him grow even more!
